Rabbi Meir Kahane comes to Boston to meet with neighborhood residents.

November 26, 1969

The head of the Jewish Defense League in New York City, Kahane meets with members of Congregation Chevra Shas on Ashton Street who are concerned over a dramatic increase in muggings in the area. According to Levine and Harmon, an average of thirty elderly Jews each week are victims. The JDL subsequently begins patrols, including an incident where they chase black youths away from the G & G Deli.
